A fantastic motorcycle tour learning about Romanian traditions and culture; riding on Transfagarasan road and Transalpina road, visiting old and painted monasteries (UNESCO World Heritage), fortified churches and Dracula Castle.

Welcome to Romania!
We will pick you up from the airport and take you to the hotel. The hotel is situated in the center of Bucharest, a city with a vibrating culture, art galleries, museums and a busy night life. Known as “Little Paris” with its reputation for the high life, Romania’s largest city and capital Bucharest, offers a historical charm, a large number of museums, art galleries, exquisite Orthodox churches and unique architectural sites. We start our visit with the Parliament Palace (formerly called the People’s Palace).Built within Nicolae Ceausescu’s vision, the Parliament Palace provides 3.76 million square feet and it is considered as the world’s second largest building after the U.S. Pentagon. In the evening we will have a welcome special dinner and we will discuss the details of our tour.
We live behind a beautiful city and ride our motorcycles through a spectacular mountain road to Sighisoara. We ride on narrow streets and listen great stories about the place where Print Vlad of the Impeller, known as Count Dracula, was born. We visit the ancient Sighisoara fortified citadel together with The Clock Tower, The Torture Room and The Medieval Weapon Collection. We spend the night in the ancient city listening the famous legends of Dracula.
It is time for some wild landscape and countryside roads. Bicaz Gorges and Red Lake, also called Killer Lake because of the pine trees that point out of the water it is our first target.
We continue our motorcycle tour and pass into Moldavia, a great region that represents the culture and the history of the Romanian people! Today we begin our experience towards cultural monasteries in Moldavia, a region full of history and legends! Step inside Voronet Monastery, the most important building of Stefan the Great, Romanian great leader, with great paintings of biblical and historical characters, royal pews and cloths belonging to the sixteenth century!
We step into another world, another region, with different culture and stories… Maramures region. We ride towards a gorgeous landscape, perfect for motor ride, Tihuta Pass, a fairytale land hunted by peasants and mysteries. We ride with our motorcycles towards the highest monastery built in 1390, Barsana monastery.
We take a walk and admire the 800 graves in the famous Sapanta cemetery called “the Merry Cemetery” known by the bright colored grave crosses painted with scenarios and rhymes from people’s life. Coming from the dacian period which considers death as an important moment of life, the philosophy is based on immortality and celebrates the passing into a better life. We ride towards a gorgeous landscape, perfect for motor ride, Gutai Pass, a fairytale land hunted by peasants and mysteries.
We finish the day in Sibiu. The city was founded by the Saxon colonists and called once “Hermannstadt”. Voted in 2007 together with Luxemburg the “European Cultural Capital, “The Music City” offers us a great number of cultural monuments, a diversity of museums and various artistic events.
We continue our motorcycle tour to Transalpina, highest mountain road from the entire Carpathian Mountain chain. We ride on fantastic roads and beautiful serpentines at 2145 meters; make pictures of the beautiful landscape of Transalpina road.
It is a perfect playground for demanding motorcyclists.
We ride now through Transfagarasan road, 91 km just perfect for motor riding! Build at 2042 meters altitude over Fagaras Mountains which are the highest mountains in Romania, Transfagarasan road offers the most spectacular landscape in Europe! Open to the public only few months per year due to cold weather, Transfagarasan was called by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May from Top Gear as “the most amazing road we have ever seen”! We admire at the end of the road an incredible lake called Balea Lake which is located in the middle of the mountains and make perfect pictures.
We start our day with a visit to Dracula Castle, the castle where the myth of Dracula was born and learn about inspired stories about the well-known vampire, Dracula. Known for his sadist execution methods and the number of the peoples he killed (around 100 000 peoples), Dracula gain fast a reputation all over the world. Next stop it will be Brasov. We walk through the labyrinthine cobbled streets of Brasov, one of Europe’s best-preserved cities from the medieval period build in the 12th century Saxon period with Gothic architecture and ancient style. We visit the Black Church, whose walls were darkened by the Great Fire of 1689, and admire its collection of Oriental carpets. We continue our motorcycle tour over the mountains and we will visit Peles Castle built by the King Carol the 1st between 1866 – 1914 and decorated by the famous J. D. Heymann from Hamburg, August Bembé from Mainz and Berhard Ludwig from Vienna decorators. The former royal residence is one of the most beautiful residences in Europe, with 160 rooms, all of them opulently decorated.
