Rent a BMW GS in Romania

If you would rather ride Romania on your own terms than follow a guide, rent from us. Our fleet is BMW GS – the bike the Carpathians were made for – maintained to BMW Motorrad standards and fitted for touring rather than commuting.

We are based in Corbeanca, thirty minutes from Bucharest Otopeni airport. Land in the morning, collect the bike, and be on a mountain road by the afternoon. Every rental includes a top case, 330 km per day, full insurance and 24-hour technical support.

The Fleet

Seven BMW GS models, all maintained to BMW Motorrad standards and fitted for touring. Rates are in the table above.

BMW F800 GS

895 cc parallel-twin · 87 hp · 91 Nm · 227 kg · 815 mm seat · 15 L

The F800 GS is the most approachable bike in the fleet. It runs the same 895 cc DOHC parallel-twin as the F900 GS but in a milder state of tune: 87 hp at 6,750 rpm and 91 Nm of torque that arrives low and stays flat. Peak torque and peak power sit at the same 6,750 rpm, so the delivery is linear and predictable, and you rarely need to chase revs on a mountain road.

At 227 kg fully fuelled with an 815 mm seat, it is noticeably easier to manage at walking pace than the big boxers. The 19-inch front and 41 mm fork make it road-first, at home on Transfagarasan tarmac and untroubled by a gravel detour. A 15-litre tank gives real touring range at around 4.3 L/100 km, with a 6.5-inch TFT, ABS Pro and Dynamic Traction Control as standard.

BMW F900 GS

895 cc parallel-twin · 105 hp · 93 Nm · 219 kg · 870 mm seat · 14.5 L

The F900 GS is the sharper, more off-road-focused version of the same 895 cc twin, here in full tune at 105 hp at 8,500 rpm and 93 Nm at 6,750 rpm, with stronger mid-range and a higher rev ceiling than the F800. It is the driest, most dirt-capable of the middleweights: 14 kg lighter than the F850 GS it replaced, with a narrower aluminium rear subframe and a redesigned steel frame.

At 219 kg it is the lightest bike in the fleet, and the taller 870 mm seat, longer-travel suspension and 43 mm upside-down fork put it closer to a genuine enduro stance. That makes it the pick if your tour leaves the tarmac for forestry tracks, gravel and mountain trails, while still cruising motorways comfortably. Top speed is over 200 km/h. Riding modes, ABS Pro and DTC are standard.

BMW F900 GS Adventure

895 cc parallel-twin · 105 hp · 93 Nm · 246 kg · 870 mm seat · 23 L

The F900 GS Adventure takes the same 105 hp 895 cc twin and wraps it in a long-distance package: a much larger 23-litre tank, more wind protection, and a build aimed at multi-day range rather than outright trail sharpness. The engine figures are identical to the F900 GS, 105 hp and 93 Nm, but the character shifts towards touring.

At 246 kg it carries more weight than its stablemate, most of it fuel and protection, which is exactly what you want when the days are long and fuel stops are far apart. It keeps the off-road ability of the F-series platform but adds the tank range for a proper adventure route. A strong all-rounder for riders who want middleweight handling with big-bike autonomy.

BMW R1300 GS

1300 cc boxer-twin ShiftCam · 145 hp · 149 Nm · 237 kg · 850 mm seat · 19 L

The R1300 GS is the newest and most powerful boxer BMW has ever built. From an exact 1300 cc it produces 145 hp at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, and crucially, BMW moved the gearbox underneath the crankshaft, making the whole engine more compact and shifting mass lower and more central.

The result is a bike that is 12 kg lighter than the R1250 GS it replaces (237 kg wet) yet more powerful, with a smaller, more agile chassis that lets you muscle it around on rough surfaces far more easily than before. New EVO Telelever and EVO Paralever suspension sharpen the steering, and over 96 Nm is on tap from 3,600 rpm upward. A new 6.5-inch TFT, matrix LED headlight and full electronics package come standard.

BMW R1300 GS Adventure

1300 cc boxer-twin ShiftCam · 145 hp · 149 Nm · ~269 kg · adjustable seat · 30 L

The R1300 GS Adventure is the flagship of the fleet: the new 145 hp, 149 Nm 1300 cc boxer in the largest, most capable touring package BMW makes. It pairs the most powerful production boxer engine with a 30-litre tank, maximum wind and crash protection, and the long-travel suspension of a true expedition machine.

It inherits the R1300’s lighter, more centralised chassis and EVO suspension, so despite its size it steers with more precision than the outgoing 1250 GSA. For the longest routes on this site, multi-week, multi-country, crossing borders and mountain ranges, this is the bike that does it in the most comfort, with the most range and the most presence. The top of the range, and it feels like it.

Renting from us - the practical answers

What do I need to rent a bike?

A valid motorcycle licence held for at least two years, a passport or ID, and a credit card for the warranty deposit of 2,000 euro. The deposit is held, not charged, and released when the bike comes back in the same condition.

Where do I collect the bike?

From our base in Corbeanca, Ilfov – around thirty minutes from Bucharest Otopeni airport. Tell us your flight details when you book and we will have the bike ready. There is secure parking if you arrive by car and want to leave it with us.

Can I take the bike out of Romania?

In most cases yes, but tell us where you are planning to go before you book. Insurance validity varies by country and we need to confirm cover for your route.

What happens if something breaks?

Call us. Every rental comes with 24-hour technical support and the bikes are fully insured. A mechanical problem is our responsibility to solve, not yours.

Can you suggest a route?

Gladly. We ride these roads ourselves, so tell us how many days you have and what kind of riding you enjoy and we will point you at the passes worth the detour – and tell you which ones are still closed if you are here early in the season.

Would a guided tour suit me better?

If it is your first time in Romania and you want the roads without the planning, possibly. Renting suits riders who enjoy working out their own route; a guided tour suits riders who would rather someone else handled the hotels, the borders and the logistics. Ask us and we will tell you honestly which fits.

Which dates do you need?

Tell us your dates and which model you want. We will confirm availability and have the bike ready when you land.
