A Motorcycle Tour Through Ancient Greece
Greek Waves to Peaks is an eleven-day on-road motorcycle tour through the most beautiful and historic corners of mainland Greece. Starting and finishing in Athens and covering roughly 2,300 kilometers, it weaves together the wild coastlines of the Peloponnese, the soaring monasteries of Meteora, and the ancient oracle of Delphi — a journey that pairs world-class riding with the living history and culture of Greece.
Ride the Peloponnese coast and the Mani peninsula
The first half of the tour explores the Peloponnese, the great southern peninsula of Greece. You’ll pass the Corinth Canal, visit the UNESCO-listed ancient theatre of Epidaurus and the sanctuary of Asclepius, and ride the dramatic coast road through the stone villages of the wild Mani region. You’ll explore the Byzantine fortress town of Monemvasia — cut off from the mainland by an earthquake in 375 BC — and reach Ancient Olympia, birthplace of the Olympic Games, where a full rest day lets you tour the archaeological site at your own pace.
Meteora, Delphi and the monasteries in the sky
The second half climbs into the mountains of central Greece. You’ll cross the engineering marvel of the Patras bridge and ride small winding roads to Meteora, the UNESCO World Heritage site where Orthodox monasteries perch atop sandstone pillars up to 400 meters high — the name itself means “suspended in the air.” From there the route continues to Delphi, the ancient oracle and home of the Temple of Apollo and the sanctuary of Athena, before a final ride through Mount Helicon — the mythical home of the Muses — back to Athens along sparkling coastlines.
More than a ride — the soul of Greece
This tour is as much about culture and cuisine as it is about the road. You’ll savour traditional dishes in family-run tavernas, taste wines from sun-soaked vineyards, eat fresh seafood in harbour towns like Pylos, and witness daily life in villages where traditions have stayed unchanged for generations. Timed for the perfect season, it’s a journey designed to reach the authentic soul of Greece, far beyond the usual tourist trail.
Comfort, culture and small groups
This is touring done right. You’ll stay in comfortable 3- and 4-star hotels, ride a GS equipped with side and top cases, and travel with an experienced guide, detailed route sheets, 24-hour technical support, and a support van for luggage, souvenirs and passengers. A full rest day in Olympia keeps you fresh, and with a maximum of 8 motorcycles the group stays small and personal. It’s passenger-friendly too, with a dedicated passenger price — ideal for couples who want the full Greek experience in comfort.

Day by Day
Day 1 — Athens arrival
Kalimera, Athens! Your Greek adventure begins in the vibrant capital. After checking in and refreshing from your journey, the city’s treasures await — depending on your arrival time, explore the historic centre, stroll the coastal promenade, or marvel at the iconic Acropolis. As the day winds down we gather for a brief orientation, followed by a traditional Greek welcome dinner where we get to know each other over local delicacies.
Day 2 — Athens to Poros to Nafplion · 280km
We set off for the Peloponnese peninsula. On the way we admire the famous Corinth Canal, connecting the Gulf of Corinth and the Aegean Sea. Next we stop at Epidaurus, birthplace of Apollo’s son, to visit the UNESCO-listed Epidaurus Theatre and the sanctuary of Asclepius, before reaching Nafplion.
Day 3 — Nafplion to Monemvasia · 190km
Today we cross the picturesque villages of Astros, Leonidio and Skala. Monemvasia was separated from the mainland by an earthquake in 375 BC and founded by the Byzantines in the 6th century — most of the ruins of its 800 houses still stand. The oldest church, St. Paul’s, was built in 956.
Day 4 — Monemvasia to Porto Kagio to Pylos · 330km
A full day of riding along the coast. We make several stops to explore the stone villages of the wild Mani region, taking pictures and soaking in the scenery. We reach Pylos in the afternoon, in time to wander its charming harbour, cafés and shops. Come dinner, the fresh seafood at the local tavernas is not to be missed.
Day 5 — Pylos to Ancient Olympia · 250km
We ride north through the Peloponnese, crossing a wild area of orange groves, olive and lemon trees, sheep and goats with their shepherds — the real Greece, as it was hundreds of years ago. We finish in the beautiful and famous city of Olympia.
Day 6 — Ancient Olympia · rest day
Tour the archaeological site that hosted the first Olympic Games, soaking up the grandeur of this unforgettable place and learning how the games became an integral part of ancient Greek society. Visit a local taverna for dinner, savouring delicious Greek flavours, before an overnight stay in Olympia.
Day 7 — Ancient Olympia to Preveza · 350km
Leaving Olympia behind, another beautiful day awaits. We ride along the coast toward Preveza, crossing the Patras bridge — an emblem of the region and widely considered an engineering masterpiece.
Day 8 — Preveza to Meteora · 220km
We ride small roads and let the fascinating, mountain-dominated landscape work its magic. In the afternoon we reach the cultural highlight of the day: the famous Meteora monasteries near Kalambaka, timed to catch the sunset over this extraordinary place. Built on sandstone cliffs up to 400 meters high, some sheer vertical, they are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The name Metéora comes from the ancient Greek for “suspended in the air.”
Day 9 — Meteora to Delphi · 250km
We continue through the mountains, enjoying winding roads and scenery all the way to Delphi. Built in the 6th century BC, Delphi ranks among the top places to visit in the world — here you’ll find the Temple of Apollo and the sanctuary of Athena.
Day 10 — Delphi to Athens · 300km
We journey from the ancient oracle back to Greece’s vibrant capital, winding through mythical Mount Helicon — home of the Muses. The route unfolds along sparkling coastlines where azure bays meet golden beaches: a perfect blend of mountain majesty and Mediterranean charm to close the ride. A farewell dinner awaits in Athens.
Day 11 — Athens departure
Today marks the end of our journey together, but the memories will ride with you forever. As you head to the airport, know that another adventure awaits — we’ll keep your seat warm for the next one!
