This tour is your best chance to enjoy all what Morocco has to offer you; riding up in the amazing Atlas Mountains, ride the camel in Sahara desert and follow the Atlantic Ocean coastal road. The tour is not only about riding; you will also get to know about history, culture, traditions and cuisine of Morocco.
DAY 1: Malaga arrival
Arrival at Malaga airport and transfer to the Hotel. Introductions over dinner with Spanish wine, giving us the opportunity to discuss our tour.
DAY 2: Malaga – Tangier – Chefchaouen
We start at the Costa del Sol along the Mediterranean coastline towards Tarifa. The African continent can be reached from here without delay by crossing the straits of Gibraltar by ferry to Tanger.
Here in the north of Morocco green is still the dominant color as we take winding roads to pass fields and forests towards the Rif Mountains. In the evening we reach Chefchaouen, “the blue city”, where we will spend the night!
DAY 3: Chefchaouen – Fez
On our first entire day of driving on African ground, we enjoy the rolling hills of the Rif Mountains. The terrain is perfect for our motorcycles and offers a fantastic atmosphere in which we taste sheer driving pleasure at its best. Behind the Rif Mountains we reach the vibrant city of Fes, the first of the imperial cities of Morocco that we visit. Also called the „Mecca of the West“ and the „Athens of Africa“, Fes has the worlds biggest medina, called Fas el Bali, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
DAY 4: Fez – Merzouga (desert camp)
Today we expect a long and very varied day with impressive scenery. We reach the high plains of central Morocco, where the vastness and beauty of this country emerges, while on the horizon the first foothills of the High Atlas appear.
We stop at one of the mountain passes around Azrou where you will have the opportunity to feed the monkey that live in the cedar forest of the area.
DAY 5: Rest day in Merzouga
With the views set on the sand dunes, you use the time to explore the secrets of the desert and order the amount of impressions so far.
DAY 6: Merzouga – Gorges du Todra – Gorges du Dades – Boumalne Dades
After the rest day on the edge of the desert, you have charged enough energy to start one of the queen´s stages of this tour, as the road returns back to the mountains. Far away from the main roads you discover fertile Atlas valleys, which reveal with their originality the simple lifestyle of the Berbers. Anywhere else you will experience Morocco as authentic as here. Also today you climb over the 2000 meter mark and with the Todra Gorge an absolute highlight is waiting at the end of the day. The red rock formations of the Dades Gorge rise like long fingers out of the ground. You drive 60 km deep into the canyon, also here the Berber farm every patch of land on the edge of the Dades River.
DAY 7: Boumalne Dades – Tizi N’Tichka – Marrakech
Another day..another beautiful mountain pass! Today we will ride on Tizi N’Tichka pass! The very dry Anti Atlas Mountains are very different from the two other Atlas chains of Morocco, the transition to the desert is almost fluent.
DAY 8: Rest day in Marrakech
Due to the large number of architecturally significant buildings, including the Koutoubia mosque built in 1162, the Kasbah from the 12th century and the Ben-Jusuf school from the 14th century, the old part of the city was declared together with the Agdal gardens and the Menara gardens UNESCO world cultural heritage site in 1985. The city‘s main attraction is the Djemaa el Fna, the world famous medieval market, today a lively place of oriental story tellers, snake charmers and jugglers. The Jardin Majorelle, which impresses with its peculiar architecture and plant diversity is located in the new town. You soon realise, that it is always best to make easy resting at one of the countless coffee shops inside the Medina and watch the hustle and bustle pass by. The call to prayer of the Muezin by sunset on the Fna square should not be missed anyway.
DAY 9: Marrakech – Tizi N’Test – Agadir
Everyone will love this day as we’ll ride on Morocco’s famous Tizi n’Test pass to climb over 2,200 metres in The Atlas. Our ride will take us through the High-Atlas National Park, where there will be plenty of turns and switchbacks to enjoy
The breeze of the Atlantic is sometimes already in the air. The longest and most humid river of the country leads you along orchards to the town of Taroudant. We spend the night in beautiful town of Agadir.
DAY 10: Agadir – Essaouira
Today’s ride will take us on one of the most amazing coastal roads of Morocco. We will ride through the Souss-Massa National Park, where you will have the chance to spot the many goats climbing on the Argan trees.
In the afternoon we will visit Essaouira, exceptional example of a late-18th-century fortified town, built according to the principles of contemporary European military architecture in a North African context and the favourite city of Bob Marley. You will have the chance to explore the old medina, walk on the wide sandy beach or enjoy the laid back souks and stellar seafood.
DAY 11: Essaouira – Rabat
It is time to start our trip back to Europe. We will follow the costal road till Rabat, the capital of Morocco.
DAY 12: Rabat – Ceuta
Today we will head along the Atlantic Coast en route to Tangers. After Tanger, a fantastic coastal road with spectacular ocean views will bring us to the border crossing back into the Spain, in Ceuta.
DAY 13: Ceuta – Malaga
Today we will take theferry back to mainland Spain and ride some more curves in Andalucia’s verdant mountains before heading back to Malaga.
DAY 14: Malaga departure
Today it’s time to head back to the airport for your flight home. Until our next motorcycle adventure together!
